WATERBURY, CT
MICHAEL PATRIC "HOSEIN" VALIE
"Loving father, son, brother, cousin, nephew and friend"
Michael Patric Valie, affectionately known by his family as Hosein, Hoseini or Jose, 40, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
Mike was born on February 5, 1984, in Waterbury, CT the son of Yolanda (DeMichele) Valie and the late Mohammad Mehdi Valie Barhagh. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School. After completing his Barber's license several years ago, he started with his current employer, Allan's Barber Shop in Waterbury. He was also a long-time parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Parish and, more recently, Cornerstone Church in Cheshire for the past couple of years.
In early adulthood Michael faced some struggles. His mother most especially was steadfast in supporting him to reach his goals and through his struggles, along with his family. He eventually started a family, cultivated a home, and sought to find peace in a higher power.
To simply say that Michael was outgoing would be a substantial understatement. He was a charismatic man who could command the attention of an entire room. His sense of humor cracked smiles and produced laughter from even the most serious and prude people he met. He could be brutally honest, yet this was a quality most would appreciate and still instantly make friends with him.
He was empathetic to the struggles of his close friends and family and, like his father, used his unrestricted generosity to help however he could- once even stripping down in his car to literally give all the clothes off his back to a homeless man on the street.
He was athletic, a strong and avid fitness enthusiast, loved to fish, and was a food critic who had a real passion to cook like his mother. Most of all he loved his son Eli Michael. It was an incredible sight to see this strong man melt into love and joy over his son. He was just as sensitive at times as he was strong, wearing his heart on his sleeve.
Besides his mother of Naugatuck, he is survived by his son Eli Michael Valie and Eli's mother Kaley Langlois of Watertown, sister Christine Marie Valie of Naugatuck and her longtime friend Tracy Cusimano of Meriden, brother Marc-Antony Valie and his partner Donovan Bisasor of Cromwell, grandmother Ester Shah Geshmeh, his aunts, uncles, cousins, his very close friends and mentors who were instrumental in his personal growth and support, and many individuals who supported his recovery.
Arrangements: Funeral for Michael will be held 9:00 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2025 from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to the Blessed Sacrament Church, 182 Robbins Street, Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 9th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mike was my barber and my wife, Liz´s barber for several years. We both also developed a strong friendship and bond. We could talk to him about anything. He could talk to us about anything as well. He always knew when I was having a bad day. Of course he would make a joke and get a smile out of me. He loved having my wife join in on these comical moments. Mike did relate to Liz about many things from both their pasts. Mike didn´t judge us. This is a big loss in our lives. He was a great Dad. He loved his family and friends. My condolences to his family. At least we have memories with Mike that will last. We love you Mike.
