Nelda was born June 13th, 1955, in Greenville, TX. to Norris Wimbish Sr and Larena Faye (Houston) Wimbish she moved to Denison at a young age, and she graduated from Denison High School in 1973. After graduation she went to culinary school because cooking was always her passion, she later became the head cook at El Chico, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Denison Manor. She made the best chicken and dressing, potato salad and homemade candy. Nelda also taught her siblings, nieces and nephews how to cook. During the summer you could often find her celebrating Juneteenth and her birthday at Munson Park. She was always the life of the party. She loved going to church where she was an active member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church until her health started failing. Nelda loved playing dominoes, cooking for holiday gatherings, barbecuing, eating candy, spending time with her family and friends and drinking a cold one her favorite thing to say was

Nelda peacefully went home with the Lord on Friday April 11th, 2025, at her home where she was surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by father- Norris Wimbish Sr, mother- Larena Faye (Houston) Wimbish, son- Stanton Wimbish, daughter- Tara Wimbish.
She is survived by brothers Norris Wimbish Jr and Ronnie Wimbish, sisters Kristi Wimbish and Karen Wimbish, daughters Fanchon Wimbish and Shanice Wimbish, son Lester Hunter-Wimbish all of Denison, TX, granddaughters, Tiara Wimbish, Makayla Ellis Azae'liah Faye Lindsey Hunter, grandsons- Miarrey Grant Khari Hammond Jaylon and Jaydon Davis Stanton Wimbish, great granddaughters- Kamryn Grant, Ariana and Ainslee Ramos Iyonna Harris, great grandson Elijah Harris, male companion of 10 plus years Charles Patterson, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service for Nelda will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26,2025, at Trinity Light House Church in Denison. She will be laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery. Nelda will lie in state Friday, April 25, 2025, from 11am to 4pm at Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
