Nicoletta Velsor

Nicoletta DeAngelo Velsor, 80, of East Haven, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. She was the beloved wife of 53 years to Mark Velsor. Dolly was a nickname so affectionately given to her by her husband, but all who knew and loved her called her Nicki. Nicki was born in New Haven on July 22, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Concetta Meliso DeAngelo Nigretti. Nicki grew up in New Haven and obtained her high school GED. After school, Nicki went on to work at Yale New Haven Hospital for 13 years. For the next 20 years, she would work at US Surgical, and she would end her career working as an Organic Assembly Clerk for Accustandard for over two more decades before her retirement in 2019. Though retired, she continued to volunteer every week. Nicki loved to play Bingo and even joined the New Haven Irish Club just to participate in their league. She also enjoyed crafting (especially ceramics), travelling, trips to Mohegan Sun, and weekly trips with her best friend Pat to get breakfast and go shopping together. In addition to her husband, Nicki is survived by her siblings Roseann, Albert, and Patricia Nigretti, and Joyce Pope. She was also an extremely loving aunt to several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Nicki was predeceased by her brothers Joseph DeAngelo and Anthony Nigretti, as well as her sister Caroline Eldredge. The visiting hours will be on Tuesday, April 22nd from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A parlor service will be conducted in the funeral home at 7:00 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family with a celebration of Dolly's life to take place at a later date.
