Peter L. Peckyno, 74, of Erie, passed away Saturday April 12, 2025. He was born in Charleroi, PA on September 4, 1950, a son of the late Peter and Ann Vitkovich Peckyno.
Pete graduated from Monessen High School and California State University and earned his Master's Degree from St. Bonaventure University. He worked as a teacher with the Bradford Area School District until his retirement. He dedicated his time to community service starting as an Eagle Scout and became a member of the Bradford Area Lions Club, Masons, Grotto, and Case Collectors Club. Pete was also on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army of Bradford. After moving to Erie, Pete became a member of St. Luke Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Melinda Beckstine Peckyno; one daughter, Alissa Farrell, of Aspen, CO; two sons, Ryan Peckyno, of Alexandria, VA and Parker Peckyno of Erie; two grandchildren, Roger and Orion; one brother, Timothy Peckyno (Michele) of Sarasota, FL; one sister, Patty Consiglio (Rick) of Gilford, CT; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday April 21st from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of Peace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Bradford Area Lions Club, 107 Irving Lane, Bradford, PA, 16701.
