Richard A. Emans, 82, of Factoryville passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at Geisinger Community Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary C. Emans in 2021.
Born on January 23, 1941 in Hazel Park, MI, he is the son of the late Ralph and Thelma (Risk) Emans.
He was a graduate of Hazel Park High School and went on to graduate from the University of Baltimore in 1974 with a degree in business.
In 1961, Richard began his military service in the United States Army, where he served his country dutifully until 1965.
Richard began his professional journey with Hershey's, where he embarked on a remarkable career as a district sales manager. For 25 years, he wholeheartedly dedicated himself to the company and played a pivotal role in its growth and success.
Golf was one of his passions; he spent many hours on the golf course perfecting his swing. Alongside golfing, Richard cherished traveling with his beloved wife. Exploring different destinations enriched their lives and created lasting memories together.
Richard also found excitement in watching horse races and visiting casinos. The thrill of the races and the captivating atmosphere of the casino provided moments of excitement for him.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Emans; daughter, Elizabeth Dardes and husband Nicholas; grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Natalie Dardes, Austin, Lexa, Cassidy Emans.
Family and friends are invited to attend Richard's funeral service which will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Deacon Ray Pieretti presiding. Interment will follow at Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of service.
