Robert Thomas Obituary
Robert Charles (Bob) Thomas Sr. passed away June 27, 2024 in Hattiesburg, MS, at the age of 95.
Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024 in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas followed two professional careers, one in geology and a second in speech and hearing sciences. He was a Texas Board Certified Professional Geoscientist, and a Mississippi Registered Professional Geologist with memberships in the AAPG, West Texas Geological Society and the Mississippi Geological Society. He was a former president of the Mississippi Speech and Hearing Association for Retarded Citizens and an Advisory Board member of the Fort Worth Texas Association of Retarded Citizens and The Children's Center of the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a recipient of the 1996 National Marrow Donor Program Volunteer of the Year Award for Tarrant County, Texas.
He is survived by his widow, Sissy; four children; ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. His wife of 46 years, Charlene, preceded him in death in 1997.
