Rodger Lee Walker

Rodger Lee Walker, age 72, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on March 8, 2025. Born September 10, 1952, in Bluefield, WV, he was the oldest of five children of Howard Lee Walker and Betty Winfrey Walker.
Rodger grew up in the rolling hills of West Virginia, and attended college a short distance away at Virginia Tech. There he earned a Mining Engineering degree in 1974 and met his late wife of 45 years, Debbie. After college, Rodger had a rewarding career as a petroleum engineer which brought him and his wife from Virginia to Louisiana, finally settling in Texas. It was in suburban Dallas where they built their family home and raised two sons and several dogs.
After a 40-year career, he and Debbie proudly celebrated retirement by traveling around the world, relaxing in their home, and spoiling their grandchildren. After three long years apart, Rodger and Debbie are now reunited.
Rodger is survived by sons: Kevin Walker of Frisco, TX, and Brian Walker and wife Kate of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren: Scott Walker and Emily Walker. He was preceded in death by his wife Debbie and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home - Rockwall Location. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. A visitation of family and friends will take place at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm.
