In Loving Memory of Roy Paul Arceneaux Sr.
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roy Paul Arceneaux Sr., who left us on December 29, 2023, at his home in Gibson, LA. He was born on October 22, 1938, to Raymond and Jane Arceneaux of Gibson, LA and was 85 years old at the time of his passing.
He will forever be remembered for his kind heart and unwavering love for his family. Roy leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
His loving presence will be deeply missed by his wife, Eula Arceneaux, his son Carl Arceneaux and wife, Gina; his daughters Tammie Kirby and husband, Mike; and Cherie Pinac and husband, Gil; as well as his grandchildren Justin Pisani, Trey Arceneaux, Nicole Arceneaux, Mary Catherine Pinac, and great-grandchildren Madeline Formenthal, Justin Pisani, and Beckham Arceneaux. He is also survived by his brothers Kenneth Arceneaux and Gilbert Arceneaux and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, thirteen siblings, and two sons, Roy Arceneaux, Jr. and Jeremy Arceneaux.
Roy graduated from Terrebonne High School in Houma, Louisiana, in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army for seven years from 1961 to 1967. He spent 55 years in the car business as a salesman and owner. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 62 years and loving father and grandfather. His hobbies included hunting and fishing at the family camp and spending time with his family and friends cooking, playing cards, and watching sports. He was an avid LSU and Saints fan and enjoyed his weekends in Tiger Stadium. Always the salesman, he never met a stranger, was never loss for words, and was a friend to all that met him.
To honor Roy's life and pay our final respects, we invite friends, family, and members of the community to join us for the funeral services and ceremonies. A public viewing will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on January 3, 2024, starting at 9:30 am. Following the viewing, a Mass will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Military honors will be at the church at 10:00 am.
After the Mass, Roy will be laid to rest at a burial service that will take place at 12:00 pm on January 3, 2024. The burial will be in the St. Patrick's cemetery in Gibson.
Rest in peace, Roy Paul Arceneaux Sr. You will be deeply missed.
