Sherry K. Doherty, nee Baumgartner, age 72, a resident of Bolingbrook, IL, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL. She was born on October 31, 1951 in Aurora, IL.
Sherry is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Ed Doherty; her loving sons, Ryan (Kristin) Doherty of Bolingbrook, IL and Eddie Doherty of Los Angeles, CA; her cherished grandchildren, Kylie and Aidan; her siblings, Raymond "Butch" Baumgartner III, Harlan (Teresa) Baumgartner, Karen (George) Hayes, Nancy (Donovan) Billings; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond V. and Marilyn J. Baumgartner, and her brother, Frank (Linda) Baumgartner.
Sherry attended SS. Peter & Paul Grade School and was a graduate of Benet Academy, Class of 1969. She met Ed while she was serving in the United States Navy and they married on February 28, 1981. In her younger years she enjoyed horseback riding. Throughout her life she loved to travel and made marvelous memories wherever the adventures took her. Sherry was a huge Adam Lambert fan from the beginning and saw him in concert countless times. Above all Sherry loved her family and will be deeply missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sherry's life on Tuesday, March 26, at 11:00 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville. Inurnment will follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
