Thomas Wayne Hittle, 84, Franklin, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, May 1, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ralph Isaac Hittle and Mary Maxine (Lovell) Hittle. Tom married Shirley (DeWitt) Hittle on September 3, 1960. She lovingly survives. Also surviving is their daughter, Terri Jackson; grandson and his wife, Tyler and Angela Brown; granddaughter, Cassandra Zimmerman; daughter-in-law, Peggy Hittle; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and sisters, Sandy Hurst and Becky Reynolds (Jim). He was preceded in passing by his parents and son, Chris Hittle. Tom was a graduate of Center Grove High School as well as a four-sport athlete. He was employed as an auto mechanic for forty-six years at Wright's Marathon in Franklin. Tom attended Greenwood Bible Baptist Church and served as a deacon at Christian Chapel Church. He was an avid fisherman all his life. Todd Poynter will conduct a Celebration of Tom's life on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana. Expressions of caring and kindness may be received to the family at www.flinnmaguire.net
