Trena Jean Muncy, age 60, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Thursday morning October 10, 2024 in New Albany, Indiana at Baptist Health. Born on May 30, 1964 in Irvine, Kentucky. Trena was the beloved daughter of Edward E. and Patricia L. Muncy and the cherished sister of Alan S. Muncy and Annette Crider Rhoades.
Trena was a bright, compassionate, resilient, and kind-hearted soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was known for her unwavering love and loyalty to her family and friends, always putting others before herself. Her infectious laughter and generous spirit were a blessing to all who knew her.
Trena graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1982. Following her graduation Trena attended the Kentucky School for the Blind where she learned valuable skills that helped her as a visually impaired adult. She continued her association with the blind community throughout her life, most recently serving on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Council of Citizens of Low Vision. Trena was also an active member of the Kentucky Council for the Blind.
Trena had a deep love for the Cincinnati Reds baseball and Bingo! She always watched the Reds with her dad. She enjoyed traveling (on her own) to her Blind Association meetings for fellowship and fun with other members.
Trena is survived by her parents Edward E. and Patricia L. Muncy, brother Alan Muncy (Laura), niece Linsey Crider, nephew Breck Muncy and her favorite dogs, Jackson, Remi, and Max, as well as many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Annette Crider Rhoades.
A visitation to celebrate Trena's life will be held on October 15, 2024 at E. M. Coot's Sons Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, IN from 4:00-8:00 pm. A service will be held Wednesday October 16, 2024 at 11:00 am.
The family asks that any donations for Trena be made in her memory to: The Kentucky Council for the Blind, 148 Vernon Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky 40206.
Trena will forever be remembered for her warmth, her love, her stubbornness and most importantly her kindness. She may no longer be with us, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She was truly one of a kind.

Trena always made me smile when she said her catch phrase, "hey girl!"
She was a patient of mine but more then that she was a kind soul.
