Funeral services for Wanda Sue Richmond will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Wetumka. Interment will follow at the Wetumka Cemetery.Wanda Sue Richmond was born July 7, 1943 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to James Everett Nolen and Ora Florence (Pierce) Nolen. She passed away Friday, March 7, 2025 in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 81.Wanda was a 1961 graduate of Wetumka High School. She also attended East Central University and received her bachelor's degree in education from Central State University. In 1962, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, she and Larry Hugh Richmond were married. Wanda worked as a teacher for more than 25 years, having taught in Moore, Oklahoma City, Wewoka and Wetumka Public Schools. Wanda enjoyed life. She loved her family fiercely. She loved to ride motorcycles with Larry, cooking for her family, riding her side by side and traveling to Colorado with her family to ride trails. She always enjoyed her time meeting up with her sister, Thelma and brother-in-law, Mike and going out to lunch. She also loved to go get ice cream at the Dairy Queen with her dear friend, Moquita Hudspeth. Wanda loved to laugh and that will be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ora Nolen; her husband, Larry Richmond; four brothers, J.M., Bob Don, and Lynn Nolen and one sister, Doris Nolen.Survivors include her children, Shelley Lynne Yates and husband Dean of Carthage, Texas, Sheryl Nix and husband Warren of Holdenville, Julie Brooks and husband David of Holdenville and Larry Hugh Richmond Jr. and wife Shawn of Holdenville; one brother, Roy Nolen and wife Wanda of Ada; one sister, Thelma Goodspeed and husband Mike of Del City; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.Serving as active pallbearers will be Brad Price, Chad Triplett, Dalton Nix, Derek Nix and Layton Richmond.Honorary bearers include Warren Nix, David Brooks, Mike Goodspeed and Dean Yates.Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Wetumka, Oklahoma and officiated by Rev.
