Waneta Mae Rasnake, 90, of Rockford passed away Friday, April 11, 2025 in Byron. Born May 2, 1934 in Bergoo, West Virginia, the daughter of Cecil and Ocie (Arbogast) Hamrick. Waneta married Hobert Rasnake on August 30, 1952, in Rockford, IL. He predeceased her on September 5, 2012. She graduated from Webster Springs High School in West Virginia, class of 1951. Waneta worked as an inspector at Barber Colman for 22 years. She loved her family and had a great sense of humor. Waneta was everyone's friend and enjoyed spending time with all of her friends.
Waneta is survived by her children, Linda (Gary) Pals, and Janice (Max) Hafeli; grandchildren, Jessica (Steve) Litteral, Julie (Ben) Beyer, Lukas (Kari) Hafeli, and Matthew (Jillian) Hafeli; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Caleb, Knox, Max, Sawyer, Broderick, Eden, Josephine, Roman, and Deacon; sister, Loretta Buck; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Waneta was also predeceased by her parents, sister, Dorothy Addington and brother, Teddy Hamrick.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Serenity Hospice and Neighbors Nursing Home for their care of Waneta.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am. on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Genandt Chapel 602 N. Elida Street, Winnebago, IL 61088 with a visitation from 10:00 am. to 10:45 am. prior to the service. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Pastor Lukas Hafeli officiating. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
