William (Bill) Lewis McClure, 91, of Cicero, IN entered into Eternal Life with Jesus Christ on June 11, 2024, peacefully at home with his family by his side.
Bill was born in Milan, Indiana to the late Fletcher and Lillian (Harris) McClure on June 14, 1932. They moved to Indianapolis in 1942 where he attended and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1950.
He met the love of his life Sally Jo Cring at Woodruff Place Baptist Church, where they were later married on December 8, 1952.
Bill enlisted in the Army of the United States where he was trained as a 500-yard sharpshooter and served in the Korean War from 1952-1954.
Upon his return from the war, Bill started his career in the marble and tile business where he would spend the next 40 years in management and as an estimator for large commercial developments. In addition, he was the owner/operator of Lakeview Mobile Home Park when the family moved to Cicero in 1979.
After their retirement in 1995, Bill and Sally spent the winter months at their Florida home in Citrus Springs for the next 20 years.
Bill was a devoted father of 5, husband, son, brother, grandfather, and veteran. Bill and Sally loved welcoming relatives, friends, and neighbors into their home and organizing and entertaining special events, holidays, and celebrations.
Bill was an avid sports fan of basketball, football, golf, and racing. He also enjoyed attending his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's sporting events and activities.
Bill was a man of faith, a respected patriarch, and the backbone of his family and he will be deeply missed.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Kathy Jarrett of Cicero, IN, Renee (Dan) O'Laughlin of Noblesville, IN, and Jody McClure of Cicero, IN; his son, Scott (Danielle) McClure of Exeter, New Hampshire; grandchildren Carolyn (Richard), Lindsay (Craig), Ian, Connor (Allison), Rory, Logan (Caitlen), Avery, and Cole; his great grandchildren, Cameron, Lilly, Chandler, Carter, Riley, Aria, and Loren.
