Barbara Nunn McGregor, 81, of Evansville, went home to meet her Lord and Savior, December 11, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. Barbara was born October 8, 1941 in Evansville to the late Dorris and Bessie (Hesmer) Nunn.
Barbara attended FJ Reitz High School for two years before graduating from North High School in 1958, in the second graduating class. She graduated from the University of Evansville with a minor in journalism and bachelor's degree in education. While at the University of Evansville, Barbara met the love of her life, Mike, to whom she married on July 27, 1961. After graduation, Barbara taught PE at Fulton Grade School. She received her master's degree in education from U of E in 1967.
After retiring from teaching full time to raise their two children, she worked part time at Nunn Milling Company and as a substitute teacher at Cynthia Heights School. She and Mike started their business, QADCO, in 1979 which became affiliated with NAPA in 2011. She loved working with Mike in the family business and considered those she worked with family. Their children, John and Susan, would later join them in the business.
Barbara pursued a variety of interests in her life. She held various positions in the Junior League of Evansville, was on the Evansville Philharmonic Board, Chi Omega Sorority, Board of Trustees of Ball State University, and an honorary member of the Bosse Babes. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, reading, traveling, golf, and her dog, Bagel. Barbara also enjoyed studying the Bible and putting her knowledge into practice. An added joy of these studies was the fellowship she found along the way. She participated in various Bible Studies including Bible Study Fellowship. Her love of the Lord shined through in all aspects of her life. She was a beloved coworker, friend, aunt, sister, daughter, mom and Mimi. While she is missed by all that knew her, we are rejoicing that she is with the Lord.
Barbara is survived by her son, John M. McGregor II; daughter, Susan Knight; grandchildren, Nate McGregor, Ella McGregor, Marshall Knight, and Rebecca Knight; sister-in-law, Joyce Nunn; and brother-in-law, William McGregor. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved beyond measure.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, J. Michael McGregor in 2014; brother, Robert Nunn; brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Shirley Nunn.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Avenue. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 at Christian Fellowship Church, 4100 Millersburg Road. I send my most sincere sympathy from Scotland to all Mrs McGregor's loved ones. Mrs McGregor was a beloved substitute teacher and we were always thrilled as children to see her at Cynthia Heights. My heart is with all of her beautiful family.

Barb was such a beautiful soul inside and out. I first met her and Mike through CFC and later found out they live next door to my sister-in-law. Barb always had a smile on her face and God in her heart. She, as is Mike, will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
