Betty L. Dow

Betty L. (Downes) Dow, 83, of Haverhill passed away Nov. 16, 2025 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.
She was born in Stoneham, MA on Dec. 22, 1941, daughter of the late Warren N. and Alice (Halligan) Downes.
Betty was a graduate of North Reading High School, Salem State and received her Masters in Education from Fitchburg State.
She was a former resident of Groveland prior to moving to Haverhill in 1967. She was a teacher at Tilton School until her retirement then later volunteered there as well.
Betty was an avid Patriots fan and season ticket holder for many years. She enjoyed knitting and above all her favorite thing was being a Nana.
She was predeceased by her husband William W. Dow who passed this past June 6th.
Betty is survived by her son William B. Field and his wife Sharon of Haverhill; her daughter Karen E. Hanson of Ipswich; sister Karen Dykeman of Sunapee, NH; four grandchildren Angela Zogg, Andrea White, Jessica Mione and Nicole Hanson; and her six great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Friday, Nov. 21st from 10:30-11:00 at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. A memorial service will follow the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be private in the Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
