Cathryne Stevens

With heavy hearts but joyful memories, we announced the passing of Cathryne L. Stevens, lovingly known as Cathy, who left this world on April 6, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on March 24, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Cathy was the cherished daughter of Louis T. and Imogene (nee Hallmark) Huser.
Cathy was a proud graduate of Mcaulley High School, where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors. Her journey led her to Miami University, where she met the love of her life, Craig Stevens, at a lively gathering in Hahn Hall. After transferring to Xavier University to obtain her Bachelor's degree, she continued her education at Mount St. Joseph University, proudly earning her master's degree in teaching.
Cathy and Craig tied the knot on August 6, 1977, and together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and love, welcoming their two wonderful sons, Brad and Brett. For 30 fulfilling years, Cathy dedicated her life to teaching 2nd grade at Oak Hills School District, where she inspired countless young minds.
In retirement, Cathy embraced her passion for gardening, transforming her yard into a beautiful sanctuary, and cherished the quality time shared with her beloved grandchildren.
Cathy leaves behind her loving husband of 47 years, Craig A. Stevens; her sons: Brad A. (with his wife Becky) and Brett H. Stevens; and her cherished grandchildren: Lane, Bryce Stevens, and Cody Massey. She is also survived by her brother, Louis "Ted" (Sue) Huser; sisters: Susan (Howard) Knost, Lois (John) Morrell, and Barbara Skiff; along with many nieces, nephews, friends, and the loving family of Craig, including his siblings.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents: Lois T. and Imogene (nee Hallmark) Huser; and her brother-in-law, Harry Skiff.
A celebration of Cathy's vibrant life will be held on April 17, 2025 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Willie's Sports Cafe, 19325 Schmarr Dr, Lawrenceburg, IN 47025. Join us to honor the remarkable woman she was, sharing stories, laughter, and joy as we remember her spirit.
