Eva E. Pomeroy

Dover – Eva E. Pomeroy, 90, former longtime resident of Dover Point Rd. died Monday Oct. 11, 2010 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a period of failing health.

Born in Dover March 10, 1920 the daughter of Charles and Roseanna (Gingrass) Belanger, was a graduate of Dover High School.

Eva worked in for the food services departments at St. Thomas Aquinas High School and the University of New Hampshire for over 20 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church.

The widow of Ralph F. Pomeroy who died in 1993 she is survived by a son Norman Pomeroy and wife Maureen of FL and a daughter Sandra Florence and husband Steve of FL. Three grandchildren Mike and Shawn Pomeroy and Jenny Lynn Dulin and husband Ed. Also five great-grandchildren Callie, Dylan, Shealee, Elainna and Dominic. One brother Bill Belanger, three sisters Rosie Hutchin, Jeanette Couture and Madeline Poitras and several nieces and nephews.

To all who knew Eva, family, friends and members of the Church, whether you needed a shoulder to cry on or just someone to talk to, she was there for everyone. Eva was known by her extended family as “Gram” and will be forever in our hearts and memories.

Some of Grams happiest times were spent bringing up her granddaughter Jenny and spending time with her great-grandchildren and “her” dogs Oscar and Daisy.

Friends may call Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Parish of the Assumption, St. Joseph Church, 150 Central Ave. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
