Born on March 16, 1944 in Lindley, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Sorenson) Riffle. Helen was a graduate of Addison High School, class of 1963. She married Elwin 'Twig' Terwilliger on September 10, 1965. Helen worked as a bank teller for Community Bank for 20 years before her retirement.
Helen will be remembered for her love of taking bus rides to various casinos, playing BINGO and going shopping. Helen's greatest joy came from spending time with her family - especially her grandchildren. She was their biggest fan, attending all of their sporting events over the years.
Helen is survived by her loving husband, Elwin 'Twig' Terwilliger of Addison; children: Tracie Makowiec of Painted Post, NY, Tammy (Louis Gigliello) Crans of Addison, NY, Cory (Michelle) Terwilliger of Addison, NY; grandchildren: Colton (Megan) Makowiec, Jenna Crans, Blake Crans, Taylor Terwilliger, Erin Terwilliger; brother, James (Denise) Riffle of Addison, NY; brother-in-law, Richard Terwilliger of Addison, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her granddaughter, Brooke Makowiec; brother, Robert (Patricia) Riffle; sister, Anne (George) Pavlick; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Malcom Jones; and sister-in-law, Patricia Terwilliger.
Helen's family would like to express their gratitude to Helen's caregivers, Jennifer and Diane.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Flint Funeral Home 10 Wall St., Addison, NY. A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 5:00 pm, Rev. Troy Preston officiating.
