James H. Comer, 91, passed away Thursday morning, September 4, 2025. He was a resident of Greenwood.
He was born December 19, 1933 in Richmond, IN. He is survived by his loving wife, Lorna "Starr" Comer of Greenwood; four sons, James W. (Veronica) Comer of Fishers, Mark Allen (Kelly) Comer of Greenwood, Jim (Jennifer) Barnes of Menomee, WI, and Alan (Jill) Barnes of Noblesville; one daughter, Kelly (Rick) Hestand of Bargersville; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Montgomery.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Jim was a graduate of Purdue University, with a Bachelor degree in electrical engineering.
Jim was a X-ray service technician for several companies, including Litton, Profexray, Siemens, and Davis X-Ray. He was the founder and operator of Radiation Services. He retired in 1996.
He was a member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge #514, F. & A.M. and the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Murat Shrine, where he was active over the years with the Motorcycle Drill Team, Reception Unit, Railroad Club, and the Hillbillies. Jim was also a former member of the Gun Club.
At Jim's request, there will be no services at this time. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriners Hospital's for Children, c/o Murat Shrine, 510 N. New Jersey Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
