Jean Ellen (Powell) Drudy passed peacefully on September 28, 2024, after an extended illness at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. Jean was born on November 5, 1956 to John and Betty Powell in Richmond, IN. She grew up in Richmond and graduated from Richmond High School.
After graduating Jean met the love of her life, Timothy Drudy and they married in 1975. They soon began their family. Jean truly embraced motherhood and loved being with her children, she was also known as "Mama Jean" to all the neighborhood kids and her children's friends.
Her love for children is what led her to working at Yorktown Elementary School when her own children became school age. She became a teacher's aide and worked there for 15 plus years. She has always been proud of the work she has done.
Jean is survived by her son Christopher Drudy and her daughter Crystal (Drudy) Bevans; brother Danny Powell (Jan); sister Judy Smith (Coleman); many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend De Hale.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents John and Betty Powell; her husband of 42 years Timothy Drudy; brother Jimmy Powell; and nephew Scott Smith.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 5:00 PM at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory Washington Street Chapel. Friends and Family may call between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Washington Street Chapel.
