James "Jim" William Schroeder, age 67 of Hortonville, Wisconsin, passed from our loving arms to God's loving arms in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 18, 2024, with his wife by his side. He was born on May 17, 1957 to Leon and Marion (Lueck) Schroeder in Appleton, Wisconsin. Jim was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville, where he also attended grade school. He graduated from Hortonville High School with the class of 1975. Jim was united in marriage to Barb Bowers, on October 30, 1982, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The couple was blessed with two children, Eric and Sheila.
Jim worked at Pierce Manufacturing for 38 years, before retiring in 2018, due to poor health; eventually being diagnosed in 2020 with Lewy Body Dementia. He enjoyed camping, woodworking and yard work. Jim passes down his knowledge of woodworking to Barb so she can carry on. Jim was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Barb; his mother, Marion; children, Eric (Angela) Schroeder and Sheila (Charlie) Geiger; grandchildren, Dylan and Axel; step-grandchildren, Emily and Nick; siblings, Connie (Curt) Posselt, Mike (Mary) Schroeder, and Gene (Chris) Schroeder. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Leon.
The Memorial Service for Jim will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville, with Rev. Kevin Westra officiating. The Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the staff of Silverstone Memory Care for their warmth and kindness and also to Moments Hospice for the compassionate care given to Jim.
