ROCKFORD - John W. Erickson, age 58, of Rockford passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at UW Health. John was born to Jim and Jan (Zanocco) Erickson on October 24, 1963 in Rockford.
John had a love of music which inspired him to sing in local bands during his younger years. He worked for several local painting companies and was a skillful painter who paid attention to detail. He also was a true animal lover. John was passionate about fishing, biking and spending his time along the Rock River. He enjoyed being around his friends and sharing his stories of life. John will always be remembered for being kind and generous. He will remain forever in our hearts.
He is survived by his daughters, Brittney and Christine Erickson, three grandchildren; mother, Janice Erickson; brothers, Michael (Cheryl) Erickson, Jeffrey (Eva) Erickson, and Paul (Michelle) Erickson; mother of his daughters, Patricia Erickson; and numerous nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Jim Erickson; and grandparents, Emil and Lillian Erickson and Anthony and Angelina Zanocco.
The Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at a later date. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Miss Carly's or Carpenter's Place. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
