Lewis Wayne Lincoln, Jr., 89, of New Egypt, N.J., passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7th, 2025.
He was born in Trenton, NJ, and raised in Hamilton Square, NJ. Wayne was a graduate of Hamilton High School West, Class of 1955. He worked in manufacturing at Mercer Rubber and Ocean Spray. Wayne proudly served his country in the U.S. Army 1958-1964 as a Light Weapons Infantryman. He was a 2nd Class Gunner (Light Machine Gun), Marksman (Automatic Rifle); Expert (Rifle). He spent time in Korea as well as Fort Benning, Georgia. Wayne loved spending time outdoors. A few of his favorite activities over the years included: ice skating, tennis, gardening, woodworking, hiking and photography. No matter the season or weather, you could always find Wayne walking. He will be fondly remembered as "Walking Wayne." He took many vacations to Maine, enjoying nature and walking the Appalachian Trail.
Predeceased by his parents Lewis and Lillian Lincoln; his sister Eileen & Wade Coleman and his brother Kenneth & Jeanne Lincoln. He is survived by his three nieces: Lynn (Craig) Reed, Elaine (Douglas) Gischlar and Lydie Coleman; cousins: Dorothy Sexton, Arthur (Pam) Lincoln, Ginny (John) Harrison. He will be greatly missed by many other family members and dear friends.
Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family at Riverview Cemetery in Trenton, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wayne's memory to Eden Autism Services, 2 Merwick Road, Princeton, NJ 08540.
The Lincoln Family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at Bear Creek Assisted Living. Our uncle was provided with kindness, compassion and exceptional care during his 5+ years there. All of you truly made a significant difference in the quality of his life. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
