Lindy Sircy Grant was born on September 26,1946 in St. Augustine, Florida to the late Dolores Nichols Sircy and Rob Sircy. She passed away on September 16, 2025. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She attended Fullerwood Elementary, Ketterlinus, and St. Augustine High School. It was during her time at SAHS that she became a cheerleader and started dating football player Tom Grant. They were married in July of 1968. The two welcomed a daughter, Caroline, in 1969 and their son, Wes, in 1972.
Lindy was a teachers aide at Loretto Elementary in Mandarin, Florida and it was then that she decided to become a teacher herself. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with her elementary education degree and taught at Plew Elementary in Niceville, Florida for 25 years. Lindy and Thomas returned to St. Augustine in 2010 to spend their retirement years with family and friends.
Lindy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Grant. Her daughter Caroline (Michael) McCarron. Son Wes (Cindy) Grant. Three grandsons Christopher McCarron, Matthew McCarron, and Jonny Ray Grant. Her sister, Susan (Ken) Layne and several nieces and nephews.
Lindy was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Robin Lewis.
The family would like to thank Community Bailey Hospice Center for the care they gave to Lindy.
Private services will be arranged at a later date.
