Patrick Miles Daly lived life to the fullest for 80 years until January 11, 2024, when he peacefully joined those who passed over before him.
Pat was born on February 13, 1943, in Wisconsin Rapids to Emmie & Norbert Daly. Growing up on the corner of 12th & Oak Street, he and the "Oak Street Boys" created many wonderful memories and remained life-long friends. Pat attended SS Peter & Paul, Assumption High School, Marquette University, University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Colorado Boulder where he earned his MBA.
On August 27, 1966, Patrick and Kathryn Getzin were married. In 1969 they moved back to Wisconsin Rapids where Pat joined First National Bank and they raised two daughters, Molly and Meg. He partnered with Darwin Blanke to build B&D Farms and Wisconsin Central Farms. Pat excelled at whatever he did whether it be sports, work, farming, golf, skiing or hunting. His church was the outdoors, especially the virgin forest next to the home they built, both of which he cherished. Spending time maintaining trails to be shared with friends and neighbors was a favorite pastime. Ever since Pat was a young boy, dogs were a big part of his life. He especially loved training the hounds and watching the way they worked while flushing pheasants on his hunting trips with beloved friends. The activity he enjoyed and probably spent the most time on was golf. Pat absolutely loved the game and camaraderie with his fellow golfers. According to him, you were never too good for another lesson, so he was always working on his already great swing and willing to help others with their game. But most importantly, the game meant spending time with treasured golfing friends on the course and enjoying a beverage afterward. Friends were many and extremely important and cherished by him. Pat and Kathy enjoyed traveling extensively in the United States and the world. National Parks, New Zealand, South America, and Prague were some favorites. Words of advice to his daughters were "plan where the next trip would be while on the current one". The cottage on Lake Tomahawk was the perfect spot for good times with family and friends old and new. His favorite question to ask was, "Is everyone happy?" Pat had a way of taking a sincere interest in others, especially the careers and aspirations of the younger generation. He encouraged people to feel good about themselves and was kind, warm-hearted, and generous to the community.
Later in life, Pat loved watching the birds and wildlife in his backyard. Pat above all else valued a steady devotion to family - his wife Kathy, his daughters Molly & Meg, son-in-law Chris, granddaughters Kelly and Laura, grandson Michael, brother Mike, sister Kath and many nieces and nephews. Throughout his life, he maintained a sincere appreciation for the beauty, love and fun that enveloped him. In being who he was, Pat Daly let his life speak.
A private service will be held for immediate family. A Celebration of Life for Pat will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Assumption Foundation, Inc., PO Box 1041, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495-1041 or FOCUS (Food pantry, neighborhood meals and family packs), 2321 W Grand Ave., Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495.

Pat was a worthy opponent on the basketball court for this Pacelli grad. Rest in peace, and I wouldn't mind if you'd miss that free throw...
