Paul Eugene Gindling

Paul Eugene Gindling, 72, Whiteland Indiana passed away at home on August 16th, 2024. Paul was born in Greensburg Indiana on October 14,1951 to Jim and Viola Gindling of Sunman Indiana. Paul, the first of six children, graduated from Whiteland high school in 1969. Paul and his three brothers known throughout Whiteland as the "Gindling Boys" were known for their football prowess, or perhaps that is what they liked to think. Paul's two sisters, the youngest of the six siblings, remember him as a protective brother willing to go the extra mile for them. He was a Marine Corps Vietnam veteran. Paul was an accomplished tool and die maker, retiring from Navistar in 2009. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Judy (Shrout), daughter Jennifer Hart (Perry), grandchildren Amber Beers (Josh), Kelcie Lee (Aaron),and Riley Hart as well as great grandchildren, Lulu and Juniper Lee, and siblings Mike Gindling (Iris), Ken Gindling (Sally), Dan Gindling, Cheryl Sullivan (Todd), and Sandy Smith (Jerry).
Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and hiking. Paul was a gifted woodworker, a skill passed to him by his father. Paul cherished his vacations which began with his Mother, Father and five siblings loading into the family van, pulling the pop up trailer known affectionately as the "Scamper". The Scamper traveled thousands of miles including to the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Cape Canaveral, many state and national parks and the perennial Gindling family favorite, Pentwater Michigan. Paul's love of vacations continued with his fishing trips to Canada, summer family vacations to Dale Hollow and hunting trips out west. Paul's last summer vacation was to Pentwater Michigan earlier this month. Paul enjoyed the beach and a beer at the Antler bar with four generations of Gindling's. On his last day Paul was surrounded by family and his fishing buddies retelling the best of the many fish stories. ( No fact checking was allowed).
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Donations can be made in Paul's name to the charity of your choice.
