Robert D. "Bob" Welty, 83, of Plainfield, IN passed away on July 28, 2024 in Miller's Merry Manor in Mooresville, IN. Bob was born on August 20, 1940 to the late Dennis Jacob "Jake" Welty and Katherine Pansy (Sipes) Welty.
Bob was a 1958 graduate and basketball player for Eminence High School. He was a very proud American and served in the Army Reserves. Bob was a truck driver for Consolidated Freight from 1971-2002 and was very proud of his safety record during his time there.
Bob was into everything Farming. He loved his antique tractors including his International and Allis-Chalmers but most of all he loved his three daughters and all of his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his three daughters: Kim Fox of Fishers, Teresa Flinchum (Danny) of Franklin and Stephanie Mundy (KC) of Coatesville; eight grandchildren: Meagan, Savannah, Daniel, Dalton, Logan, Zachary, Jeslyn and Joey; fourteen great grandchildren; five brothers: Darrell, Larry, Jerry and Rodney Welty and Ronnie Stevens; two sisters: Betsy Keith and Jenny Harper; special lady friend, JoAnn Bray and his canine friend, Candy.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Will and Dennis Welty and two sisters: Sandy Sims and Diane Welty.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-8pm Thursday, August 1, 2024 and 10-11am Friday, August 2, 2024 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. The celebration of life service will be at 11am Friday, August 2, 2024 following the visitation at the Funeral Home. Bob will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
