I had the good fortune of beginning my professorial career at Loyola in 1969 under Ron's guidance. In my early years he was a steady and unfailingly wise source of counsel and guidance. I guess I can summarize the most important Ron taught me was the difference between freedom from responsibility and freedom for responsibility. Choosing the former is likely to hold little reward; choosing the latter makes it all worthwhile. Ron is a guy that I came to love and respect early in our relationship, and those feelings have endured over the years. I am very sad to hear of his passing and I extend my love and condolences to his family

From the Rudis Family:
Ron was kind and helpful to multiple generations of the Rudis family. We all thought visiting with him and Aldona was a treat. The Loyola cohort always will embrace Ron's memory.
Thanks, Ron, for the insights and encouragements.

A masterful teacher, communicator, and leader...he valued his students and related to them with a keen sense of dignity, respect, patience, and positivity. Dr. Walker was an educator's educator who manifested and enhanced the values of a Jesuit education. May Dr. Walker rest in peace...a life well lived and a job well done!

Ron was one of the best administrators at Loyola in my time there because he was what Loyola tries to have its students become: a person for others. An admirable person, he left a high benchmark for others to try to reach after him. My sincerest condolences to his family.

I will be forever grateful to Ron for hiring me to join the Psychology Department faculty in 1970. With his many talents, it was inevitable for him to rise through the academic and administrative ranks, and to spread his positive impact upon students, faculty, and staff at Loyola and others far beyond. Having been in the same room with Ron many times for business and social occasions, I saw a master at "working the room." He knew and talked with everyone, and made each feel special by his warm attention. I am very sad that Ron is gone and that I will not be in his hearty presence again, except in memory. To his loving wife Aldona, their wonderful children, and all the Walker family, I send sincere sympathy. Your sense of loss is widely shared. John D. Edwards, Ph.D., Emeritus Professor, Psychology Department, Loyola University Chicago

Ron was a very dear friend on many levels. Our families grew up on the same street, Park Place in Evanston, IL. The Walker Family were a wonderful presence and contributed richly to the life of Park Place. We had a great time together.
The Walker kids were great friends with my sibs and shared countless time together.
Dr. Walker also served as a great professional mentor to me as I navigated my professional career as an educator and doctoral student.
Ron, I celebrate the joy that you brought to so many people.

I had Ron for Psychology in my first year at Loyola, 1961, which was his first year teaching. He remembered my name for four years of college. Since I worked at Loyola all of my life, we have been good friends for a long time and he helped me a lot which I really appreciated. I will miss him greatly and my condolences to Aldona and the family.
