Stuart James Stromeyer, age 72, of Diamondhead, MS

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Stuart James Stromeyer, a man who was truly larger than life—known for his generous spirit, infectious smile, and unwavering kindness. Stu touched the lives of everyone he met. He was a pillar of the community, an inspiring leader, a tireless volunteer, and a true friend to many.

A resident of Diamondhead, MS and native of Metairie, LA Stu attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, Archbishop Rummel High School (1971), Tulane University, and LSU, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Finance (1975). He was a Large Loss Adjuster for oil, gas, and power claims and a mentor for young adjusters. In retirement, he enjoyed working at the cart barn for The Club at Diamondhead.

Throughout his life, Stu achieved many things, including an Associate in Claims from The Institutes, Leadership TASB Master Trustee (2009), and he achieved not one, but TWO hole-in-ones at Pine Hills Country Club, Sheboygan, WI.

Stu was involved in and enjoyed numerous hobbies and activities. He was an avid golfer, wine enthusiast, part owner of an NFL franchise (Go Pack GO), a Pink Heart Funds volunteer, a Youth Sports Coach, and active member in Big Brothers Club. Stu served on the Board of Directors for the Diamondhead POA and was a longtime member of the Mardi Gras Krewe of Bacchus. He was also a former board member of Pine Hills Country Club and Sheboygan Yacht Club, past board member of the Blanco Texas Volunteer Fire Department, past president of Clear Creek ISD and Clear Brook High School Band Boosters. He also enjoyed frequenting sporting events with friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Melville Stromeyer; his brothers, Lionel Stromeyer and Mel Stephen Stromeyer; and one sister, Jan Stromeyer, each succumbing at a young age from cystic fibrosis.

Stu is survived by his wife of 15 years, MaryAnn Storer Stromeyer; mother, Elaine Hingle Stromeyer of Denham Springs, LA; children, Becky Rivard (Chris) of Montgomery, TX, Chris Stromeyer (Alta) of LaPorte, TX, William Stromeyer (fiancée Ali) of Webster, TX, Nick Stromeyer (Justine) of Houston, TX; his stepchildren, Leigh Ann Weaver of Fort Worth, TX, Stuart Gaines-Weaver (Scott) of Denver, CO, Grant Weaver (Lauren) of New Braunfels, TX, and Abbey Gilliam (Patton) of Hondo, TX. He is also survived by his siblings, Scott Stromeyer of Nashville, TN, Jean Eriksson (Erik) of Houston, TX, and Mark Stromeyer (Tammy) of Walker, LA; grandchildren, Cathy Rivard, Russell Rivard, Jamey Stromeyer, Elizabeth Stromeyer, Hayden Gilliam, and Trent Gilliam; and his former spouses, Dorinda Forsythe and Stefanie Caserta; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

More than anything, Stu was an adoring husband, devoted son, loving father, proud grandfather and caring big brother whose family meant the world to him. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always cherished.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 East Medical Center BLVD, Webster, TX 77598. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stu's honor to the Pink Heart Funds of Mississippi or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
