Suzanne P. Johnson was born on August 13, 1934, in Worcester, Massachusetts, one of three
children born to Charles Ward Johnson and Rena L. Johnson (Boyle).
Suzanne graduated from Wayland High School in 1953 and obtained an Associate Degree in Foods in 1955 from Garland Jr. College, Boston, MA. In 1955, she started her career in the Food Service Industry at Massachusetts General Hospital and in 1968, she was employed by Wellesley College as the Food Service Supervisor for Stone Dining Hall, where she managed a team of 10 full-time employees and 10 student waitresses.
Suzanne loved animals, especially dogs and always fondly remembered her youth in Provincetown, where she developed her passion for swimming and boating.
In 1996, Suzanne and her dog Mitzie relocated to Winsor Road in Weymouth. Suzanne liked to be busy and spend her time taking care of animals and maintaining her house and yard as well as some of the neighbors' homes.
Suzanne's last 4 years were spent at Windrose Memory Care of Weymouth, where she was a staff favorite. Everyone loved "Suzie," and Suzanne loved the people who cared for her.
A graveside service in Celebration of Suzanne's life will be held Friday, May 9th at the Linwood Cemetery, 180 Boston Post Road in Weston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Suzanne's loving Memory to the Massachusetts Humane Society:
PO Box 850177 Braintree, MA 02185-0177.
