Elmer Martin Wallace, Jr. ("Wally")

February 14, 1945 – February 9, 2026

Elmer Martin Wallace, Jr., lovingly known as "Wally," passed away on February 9, 2026. Born on February 14, 1945, in St. Petersburg, Florida, he lived a life defined by love, faith, family, and hard work.

Funeral services for Wally will be held at Vidalia First Baptist Church on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 12noon with Bro. Brad Watson and Bro. Whest Shirley officiating. Interment will follow to Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez, MS. The family will receive friends at the church from 10am until service time at 12noon.

Wally spent his early years in Eagle Lake, Texas, where he welcomed his brother, Greg, with whom he shared a lifelong bond. His family later lived in Snyder, Waco, and Beaumont, Texas, and Lafayette, Louisiana, before settling in Vidalia in 1961. He graduated from Vidalia High School in 1963, where he was selected to the All-State Football Team and formed friendships that lasted a lifetime.

After high school, Wally proudly served in the United States Navy, traveling the world during his service. Following his honorable discharge, he attended Louisiana State University and Arlington State College before ultimately choosing a different path.

Upon returning home, he met Brenda, the love of his life. They shared 54 years of devoted marriage filled with partnership, laughter, and family.

Wally began his career at Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. and later worked as an electrician with Myers Electric alongside his close friends, Jimmy and Johnny Myers. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and steady presence.

He loved the outdoors and especially life on the water. Lake St. John held a special place in his heart, where he enjoyed swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing, and jet skiing with his grandchildren. On his 80th birthday, he purchased a three-wheeler Harley Davidson and enjoyed riding alongside his son, Marc.

A faithful servant, Wally served as a deacon. Some of his most cherished moments were spent quietly at home beside Brenda, reading the Bible together, often with their beloved dog, Charlie nearby.

Above all, Wally treasured his family. His favorite titles were "Grandaddy" and later "Gi Gi." Nothing brought him greater joy than his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Brenda Wallace; his son Marc Wallace and wife Jessie; his grandchildren Blake Wallace and wife Jessica, Kayla Smith and husband Cullen, and Reilly Wallace; his great-grandchildren Ella Jax Smith, Wrenlee Wallace, and Landry Smith; his brother Greg Wallace; his sister Amy Probst and husband Bruce; and his cherished dog, Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Wallace; his father, Elmer Martin Wallace; his stepmother, Helen Wallace; and brother, Wesley Saia.

Those honoring Wally as pallbearers are Johnny Myers, Jay Myers, Derek Aucoin, Greg Brown, Roy Bishop, Jeremy Ewing, and Robby Clark.

Honorary pallbearers are Bob Partridge, Brent Taunton, Mark Taunton, Gordon Brown, Bruce Probst, and Gary Parnham.

Wally will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family.
