Melissa Marie Frilot
INMAN, SC-- Melissa Marie Frilot, 19, of 15 W. Miller St., passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 due to injuries received in an automobile accident. Melissa was born in Spartanburg, SC on December 3, 1997 and was the precious daughter of Carl Joseph and Annette Marie (Coppola ) Frilot of Inman, SC. Together they lovingly called her: 'Our Angel'. Also surviving is her maternal grandmother, Barbara Coppola of Florida. Melissa was a 2016 graduate of Chapman High School, attended the University of South Carolina Upstate and worked at Little Pigs Barbecue. She was an active member of New Spring Church.
Melissa was survived by a brother, Joseph Garrett Frilot of the home and a nephew, Ellis Joseph Frilot of Inman, SC. Also surviving are her loving uncles, aunts, cousins and many cherished friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 31, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 3:50 PM at the Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC. A memorial service to celebrate her life and honor her memory will follow at 4:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Drew Hawkins of New Spring Church.

I am the significant other of a family member, Billy Frilot. I never had the chance to meet Melissa, although I felt like I had met her. My ears and heart are always filled with uplifting stories of Melissa, told to me by Billy. I am sincerely sorry and baffled by the loss of this beautiful young lady. I honestly have no idea of what words to use to ease this hardship, as I'm sure most of us do not. But what I will share is my belief, and that is that although Melissa may have been lost in such an unexpected, unfair manner, I firmly believe she is at peace. Hearing the stories of this lovely lady, and myself having lost someone close to me just a couple days earlier, it has pushed me closer to my own spirituality. I believe this world is just as cruel as it is good, but I also believe when we are taken from this world, we are enabled to go on to wherever we crave and adore the most. She must be somewhere she loves. My condolences and heart are with you all as well as miss Melissa.

I never had the chance to meet Melissa. But, I am the parent of one of her friends. I've never known my daughter to be so affected even from the passing of previous friends and family members. I'm so sorry for your loss. Melissa was one of the kindest souls I have ever met. We had a few classes together at Chapman and I will forever hold on to the memories. You raised an amazing daughter and I continue to pray that this hurt is only temporary.
