Alfred Dean Minniti

Alfred Dean Minniti, 87, of Phoenix, AZ, peacefully passed into God's kingdom on November 22, 2024.
Born in Windber, PA, on September 6, 1937, to Carl and Helen Minniti, Alfred graduated from Windber High School, where he was an active member of the school and community drum corps and performed percussion with a local swing band ensemble.
In 1957, Alfred enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served for 20 years as a paralegal in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (E9) at Luke AFB in Arizona. Alfred's service was marked by numerous commendations, including the Bronze Star for meritorious service during the Vietnam War, during the Tet Offensive. In 1973, he was named Airman of the Year for the entire Tactical Air Command (TAC). Prior to his retirement, he was offered the position of Sergeant Major of JAG for the USAF.
After his military career, Alfred began a second career with the U.S. District Court in Phoenix, AZ. He later moved to Michigan, where he retired after 20 years as the Chief Deputy Clerk of the Court for the U.S. District Court in Michigan.
Alfred was a lifelong learner and, using the GI Bill, attended night school at the University of Phoenix for many years. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, fulfilling his dream of becoming a college graduate. A devout Catholic, Alfred was deeply involved in his parish and active in various charitable organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts of America, and the Italian American Club.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Johnna Minniti; his son, Thomas Minniti; and his brothers, Joe Menitti, Carl Minitti, and Robert Minitti. Alfred is survived by his sons, Robert Minniti, Kenneth Minniti (wife Nancy), and John Minniti; his grandchildren, Alex Minniti (wife Dragana), Michael Minniti, Christina Minniti (husband John Broekhuizen), Alfred Minniti, and Tony Minniti (wife Mikayla Minniti); his brother, Pat Minitti; and his sisters, Catherine Flori and Eleanor Milazzo.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 12:00 PM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Scottsdale, AZ, followed by a luncheon reception.
