Darrel Gene Sutton, 73, of Massillon, went home to be with Our Lord on Friday, April 26, 2024. Darrel was born on May 4, 1950 in Wooster, Ohio the son of the late Ralph and Clara (McKisic) Sutton.
He was a graduate of Dalton High School and went on to graduate from Kent State University while playing basketball through his school years. He was a devout Catholic and attended Divine Mercy Parish. Darrel was a longtime member of Knights of Columbus.
Darrel had a fulfilling life married to Christine (Aowad) Sutton of 48 years. His daughters Yvette (Jared) Crowe and Andrea (fiancé, Dan Edmondson) Sutton were the lights of his life including his grandchildren, Elloree and J. Vance. His family was most important to him. Darrel was a loving, hands on father with many friendships he developed throughout the years.
He is survived by his loving wife, daughters, grandchildren, and sisters, Lavonne Fischnich and Shirley (Glenn) Wright.
The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Barbara Catholic Church - Divine Mercy Parish with Fr. Sheridan officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers check or cash may be sent to the Stark County Board of DD: 2950 Whipple Avenue NW, Canton, OH 44708. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.

Chris and family: May God be with you and hold you in his arms comforting you through the days ahead. Darrel was such a great cousin. Our family has so many great memories of the times we shared together The silly things we did together and the fun we had growing up. Until we meet again. Sending hugs to you guys and just know Darrel is now your guardian angel.
