Edward (Eddie) Peter Kuczek, a life-long resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Lowell General Hospital. He was 76 years old.
Born in Lowell on Oct 6, 1948 he was the son of Jane S Kuczek. He was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1967. In 1969, he entered the US Army and served his country in the Vietnam conflict. He was awarded the Bronze Star for valor and attained the rank of E4 before he was Honorably discharged from service in 1970.
Upon returning home to Lowell, Eddie married Mary L (Lovely) Kuczek and they started their family. While working, Eddie attended night school and received his Bachelors degree for Business Administration from New Hampshire College in 1980.
Prior to his retirement in 2009 from AGFA Corporation, Eddie worked for many years as a parts and machine assembler.
Eddie enjoyed watching the Boston sports teams, especially the Bruins. He was an avid tinkerer, amassing quite a collection of tools over the years, and could be counted on to fix or devise unique solutions to common problems on vehicles and around the home. He was a proud member and active participant of the Polish American Veterans and previously the Merrimack Valley Vietnam Veterans. He enjoyed daily trips to the Dom Polski club to play his Keno numbers and meet with his friends.
Eddie was predeceased by his wife, Mary Kuczek, with whom he celebrated 39 years of marriage, his mom Jane S Kuczek, and his brother John M Kuczek. He is survived by his sister Mary Jane (Kuczek) Ouellette of Hanover, MA, his son John Kuczek and his wife Katie (Sullivan) Kuczek, of Lowell MA. He will be lovingly remembered as "Dziadziu" by his three incredible grandchildren, Colin, Dylan, and Cara Kuczek. Eddie also leaves behind several nieces and nephews including Jennifer (Ouellette) Coleman and her husband Jim of Hanover, MA, and Stefanie Ouellette of Boynton Beach, FL.
Eddie will be missed terribly by his companion Patricia Paolino-De Repentigny who filled his last 13 years with love, care, and companionship.
The family would like to thank the many health care professionals who provided for Eddie over the last few years, especially those at the VA Hospital, and the ICU unit at Lowell General Hospital.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. His Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10am at the Holy Trinity Polish Church, 340 High St., LOWELL. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Polish Cemetery, 155 Boston Rd., LOWELL.
