Gayla Brent, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 27th, 2023. Born in Akron, Ohio, she lived in Hartville for the past 48 years. Gayla graduated from Springfield High School and was employed by the Lake school district and Hartville News for several years. She enjoyed boating, fishing, bowling, playing cards, concerts and casino trips. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking countless dinners for those she loved.
Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harry Brent; mother, Alice Joy Conner; father, Orville John Conner and brother, Ronald Conner. She is survived by daughter, Shelly Tripodi (Mike), daughter, Tracy Freeman (Rick) and son, Nathan Brent (Rita). She also leaves behind her cherished significant other, Keith Horton, as well as her beloved grandchildren Hannah, Ava, Sophia, Ricky, Noah, Evan and Gracie along with many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Friday. Nov. 10th, from 5-8pm and one hour prior to the service from 10-11am on Saturday, Nov. 11th at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St. NW, Uniontown, OH 44685. Funeral service will be at 11am on Saturday, Nov. 11th at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank HarmonyCares Hospice and Shepherd’s Gate in Hartville for the gentle and loving care they provided Gayla.
