John Paul Novis

John Paul Novis, 79, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Mary "Peggy" (Wells) Novis, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.
He was born in Cambridge on August 2, 1944, and was the son of the late John F. and Mary C. (Procopio) Novis.
John was raised in Cambridge. He moved to Watertown when he was 15 years old and graduated from Watertown High School in 1962. He worked for several years at Harvard University and later at Fawcett Oil Company in Cambridge. John was a passionate collector of record albums and 45s. An accomplished body builder, he enjoyed spending time at the gym. He was an avid reader who loved history. In his free time, he enjoyed visiting flea markets.
In addition to his loving wife, John leaves his children, Michelle (Novis) Shields and her husband John of Watertown, Elizabeth Novis of Watertown, and Catherine Novis of West Hollywood, CA; his grandchildren, Brittany Omeara of Waltham, Jadeyn, John, and Michael Shields of Watertown, and Angelina Calleva of Watertown; his sister, Paula J. Novis of North Palm Beach, FL; his nephew, Richard Rivido of North Palm Beach, FL; his nieces, Robin Stamps and her husband James of Fort Meyers, FL, and Theresa Novis of Peabody; his sisters-in-law, Charlene Shepard of Malden, Patti Brady of Dracut, and Gerri Carbone and her husband Lou of Goodyear, AZ; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Sadly, John was predeceased by his son, Jason Paul Novis; his brothers, Robert, and Ronald Novis; and his sisters-in-law, Pamela J. Hunt, and Paula J. Novis.
