Michael Schlegel Obituary

He was a 1970 graduate of Valley High School. Michael attended the University of Kentucky where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Communications and was a member of Phi Kappa Fraternity. He was a retired Sales and Marketing Executive. Michael served his country honorably as a 38-year veteran member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid collector and sports shooting enthusiast.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Patricia Schlegel, his daughter, Julie Elder; three grandchildren, Jonathan Myhre, Stephanie Sutherland (Michael) and great-grandson Carson, Cory Myhre (Amy) and three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Corbin and Meloy. We love him and will greatly miss his smiling face.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews. He will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park where graveside services will be private.
Memorial gifts may be made to the donor's charity of choice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
