Richard Dean "Ricky" Piland, 73, passed away December 8, 2024. Richard was born January 22, 1951 in Gainesville, MO to Robert and Rose (Herndon) Piland.
Ricky married Ella May Cutshall on August 4, 1972 in Gainesville. He attended School of the Ozarks. He worked at Tobin-Hamilton for 10 years making shoes. He then built a house and moved back to Ozark County. Ricky worked on tractors and hay equipment and hauled hay for people. He also cleaned the Ford garage. Ricky served on the Bryant Fire Department for many years. He loved his family and friends. He will be missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Ella May Piland of Gainesville; two daughters Tammy Smith and Jerry Joe Smith and three grandchildren and three great grandchildren all of Harrison, AR, and Tracy Piland and Brian Timmons of Rogers, AR; one brother Elven Piland of Gainesville, MO; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Rose Piland of Wilhoit, MO; and brother Eldo Piland of Wilhoit, MO; and several cousins and uncles and aunts.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Sims Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sims Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
