Rosemary Yaniglos Obituary

BOARDMAN — Rosemary Yaniglos, 80, died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, at Briarfield Place.

She was born Jan. 17, 1945, in Youngstown, a daughter of Nicholas Novosel and Zita Choppa Novosel.

A 1963 graduate of Ursuline High School, Rosemary earned her master’s degree from Loyola University.

She embraced her calling as a teacher, leaving a lasting impact, beginning at St. John’s College in Cleveland and the Sacred Heart School of Youngstown. She taught at St. Charles, where she served as a Eucharistic minister, lector and was part of the bereavement committee. She also sponsored engaged couples, was on the parish council and was the first campus minister for youth ministry. She then went to teach at Ursuline High School and Warren JFK, where she was nominated in 1993 for the “Teacher of the Year” award by her principal.

Beyond her role as an educator, Rosemary became an Ursuline associate and worked part-time as a receptionist at the Ursuline Mother House for 33 years. She found great joy in working there and getting to know the sisters and the residents. It was a significant part of her life, and she held the sisters close to her heart.

Rosemary just celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Steve. They built a lovely life here in Ohio and they loved to celebrate all the seasons together. Their greatest joy was their daughter, Karen.

She loved to travel and was always up for a new adventure! She especially loved to go to California to see her daughter, Karen, and her husband, Murat. They loved to sightsee and shared many good times and laughs together.

Rosemary enjoyed watching movies (especially a good Christmas one), reading, candy making and cake decorating. She also loved to brighten people’s days with the perfect card that included a heartfelt message.

Rosemary was very blessed by her nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much, and they affectionately referred to her as Aunt Rosie!

She was very grateful for all of her dear friends who were such a wonderful part of her life. She cherished each of you dearly.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Stephen Yaniglos, whom she married Sept. 1, 1973; daughter, Karen (Murat) Sautpayev of California; brothers, Nicholas (Jaine) Novosel of Lexington, Kentucky, Ed (Colleen) Novosel of Girard and Thomas (Marianne) Novosel of Hubbard.
