Trevor Evanson Obituary

Trevor Allan Evanson was a lion in the lives of everyone that knew him and a champion to his family and closest friends. He was a cherished individual known for his kind nature, athletic prestige, fierce love of his family and devotion to Ashley, his partner in life. His loving, caring, and goofy personality left us suddenly on December 20, 2024, at only 31 years old. Born on March 18, 1993, Trevor lived a life filled with tremendous passion and always had a beautiful smile on his face.

He is survived by his father Ricky Evanson; brother and best friend Travis Evanson; his life partner Ashley Smith; grandfather Theodore Wells; cousins, aunts, uncles and countless friends whose lives were greatly enriched by Trevor's presence. He is preceded in death by his mother Karin Evanson; maternal grandmother Helma Wells; paternal grandfather Melvin Larson; paternal grandmother Gladys Larson. His departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives, yet we find comfort in the memories and everlasting love we shared.

Trevor was an esteemed alumnus and celebrated athlete of Golden High School in Golden, CO, graduating in the academic year of 2011. He was a standout in football, basketball and track & field where he was an elite high jumper. He took those same skills with him to college when he attended the University of Northern Colorado as a student athlete for football and track & field. Trevor still holds a UNC record for the high jump at 2.16 meters (7'8").

His willpower, determination and drive for the sports he loved was a shining example for others and a value that was central to his character and the passion he brought to the rest of life. Trevor graduated from the University of Northern Colorado on August 4, 2017, with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Tourism and Hospitality.

An avid outdoorsman, Trevor never missed hunting season in Wisconsin, a 4th of July celebration in Ohio, an opportunity to visit with friends in Texas, a chance to gather with family and loved ones for any occasion or a beach to dig his toes into. Trevor loved being in water on lakes and the ocean and would take every opportunity he had to live the beach life in places like California, Hawaii, Texas Florida and Mexico where he would often travel with the people he kept closest to him.

As much as Trevor enjoyed traveling and the water, his heart has always been in Colorado, where he was born, where he grew up spending his time camping, hiking, hunting, rafting, fishing and four wheeling with his family and friends, watched the Broncos every weekend, went to concerts at Red Rocks, snowboarded, graduated high school, graduated college and fell in love.

Trevor was recently promoted in his career at Signa where he won the top performer award as a pre-sales consultant and was building a beautiful life to be spent with his partner Ashley. They spent the better part of a decade living a beautiful life together traveling, concert going, camping, celebrating friends, celebrating family, playing in sports leagues and building a future along with their dog Lyla. The gravity of his loss will be forever felt by all that knew him.

Trevor Evanson, a beacon of kindness and love, will forever stay on our minds and reside in our hearts. His legacy and love of family and excellence in everything he did, exemplified by his compassion, goofy personality and easy laugh, will continue to inspire and guide us. As we grapple with the loss of his physical presence, we find solace in knowing that Trevor's spirit lives on through the people that loved him and through the love he instilled in us.
