Craig Allen Bounds, affectionately known as Craig to his friends and family, left this world for his eternal journey on February 24, 2025, in Salisbury, MD. Born on August 7, 1960, in Maryland, Craig's infectious laughter and keen intellect touched the lives of all who knew him. His passing marks not only the loss of a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather (Poppy), but also the departure of a man who lived his life with an unyielding passion for the things he loved.
Craig's life was one rich in love and achievements. He was the cherished son of the late James and Peggy Bounds, a testament to the loving family that raised him. He spent 38 wonderful years in matrimony with his loving wife, Leslie Bounds, who stood by his side as his partner and best friend. The proud father of Nick Bounds and Courtney Smullen (Kyle), Craig was predeceased by his son Tyler Bounds. His legacy continues through his adored granddaughters, Allison Smullen and Olivia Bounds, who will forever cherish their memories with him.
In his formative years, Craig graduated from Parkside High School in 1978, setting a strong foundation for his future endeavors. He went on to harness his skills and became a respected Journeyman Electrician, a career he dedicated himself to with the Local Union IBEW 24 for 34 years. His professional life was marked by dedication, commitment, and excellence, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Craig's brothers, Mickey Bounds (Renee) and Keith Bounds, remember him as a pillar of strength and a source of constant support. He was a loving family man, holding dear his relationships with his father and mother-in-law, Clifton Pusey and the late Marylee Pusey, as well as his sister-in-laws, Terri Workman (Harry) and Judy Williams (Randy), and preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ken Pusey. His nephew Allen Gordy Jr. also preceded him in death. Craig was a cherished uncle to several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom felt his love and benevolence.
Craig's zest for life was evident in his varied interests. An avid outdoorsman, he relished the time spent hunting and fishing, embracing the serenity and challenge of nature. His passion for working on classic cars was more than a hobby; it was a canvas for his creativity and mechanical ingenuity. The roar of engines at a NASCAR race was music to his ears, and he enjoyed the thrill and camaraderie that came with being a fan.
Those who knew Craig would describe him as funny, loving, and intelligent. His sense of humor was a light in any room, his love was a comfort to those around him, and his intelligence was a source of guidance and inspiration. Craig lived a life full of laughter, love, and learning, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those he touched.
As we bid farewell to Craig Allen Bounds, we celebrate a life well-lived and well-loved. His memory will be cherished, and his presence sorely missed. The heavens have gained a remarkable soul, one whose laughter, we imagine, is already resonating through the stars. Craig's journey on earth has concluded, but his spirit remains an indelible part of the tapestry of our lives. Rest in peace, Craig; your story here may have ended, but it continues within us all.
