Rosella "Ross" Meny

Rosella "Ross" (Nurrenbern) Meny, 96, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Heritage Center.
Ross was born in Evansville, Indiana on June 10, 1928 to the late Leo J. Nurrenbern and Louise (Fox) Nurrenbern. She graduated from Memorial High School in 1946. After attending Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Catholic College for women for 2 years, she married Gerald G. Fuchs in 1949. They welcomed two children, Gerry and Julie. In 1970, she and Gerald parted ways. She continued her education, earning a BA degree in Sociology, minoring in Psychology from the University of Evansville. Ross worked at the Department of Public Welfare, Child Welfare Division for 2 years. In 1974, Ross married Charles "Chuck" Meny and they moved to Massachusetts. While in New England, she furthered studies at Antioch University in Keene, New Hampshire, and at the Gestalt Institute of New England. Ross and Chuck returned to Evansville in 1980. She started a private practice offering therapy for individuals. She volunteered at numerous organizations, including Patchwork Central and Welfare Rights Organization.
Ross is survived by her son, Gerry Fuchs (Brenda) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Aaron Slaton, Katie Lamb (Mike), Michelle Koester, Krystal Sullivan (Cale), Lindsay Porter; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Ross was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Meny in 2024; daughter, Julie Marie Slaton in 2011; her parents; and brothers, Jerome, Eugene, Robert, and Leo Jr.
A celebration of Ross' life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711.
Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until service time on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the Heritage Nursing Center where Ross impacted the staff who showed her tender care, compassion, and love for over 5 years. The family also thanks the Heritage Hospice organization for their love and support during her final days.
